Medicine, humanity, and the stories between.
A Physician’s Space
for writing honestly about what it means to care for children with cancer—and to remain whole while doing is.
Dr. Rachel
Sisto
I'm a pediatric oncology hospitalist and assistant professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. My clinical work lives at the intersection of communication, presence, and the hardest conversations families ever have.
I write to make sense of what I witness — and to build something useful from it. My research focuses on how we communicate with families during cancer care, and I'm developing a narrative medicine curriculum for oncology trainees that I hope will change how the next generation of physicians hold grief.
